Between these eyes sway
paper seas filled with
drowned words from
sunken notebooks.
Held in sleep by
whale song weight
lamenting long-healed
harpoon wounds.
Monsoon swoons with
gentle might, moving
night to day, tomorrow
the bay of borrowed time
may come to wash these
hands of mine.
